This 1st fair was honored by the presence of local and provincial officials of education, gender and traditional chiefs. TFM was represented by a strong delegation composed of the Chairperson of the Women's Committee, Irène Shimba, Human Resources, Industrial Relations and Community Relations Managers. Young girls from the schools of the commune of Fungurume were the main guests of this festival of women of science. In the speeches of the speakers, the call to embrace scientific fields is immediately apparent. Words often came up in the speeches: creativity, skills development, technology, innovation, versatility, adaptability. It is therefore a vibrant call to young girls to inherit science, a powerful lever to meet global challenges and open up access to future opportunities. These different speeches were made more lively by the projection of a video illustrating the work and experience of women from different fields at TFM. Everything has been put in place for the success of this 1st edition. Thus, a rich range of activities was on the menu: testimonies, a question and answer session between the panel and the students, a sketch by the students and a tour of the stands, all revealing the know-how of women in the technical professions.

After the panel, there was a visit to the stands. Another inspiring activity. The students were able to admire the representation of the real experience in the company. They received edifying explanations from their elders in science in various disciplines such as geology, metallurgy, chemistry, auto mechanics, the environment, construction, water treatment, geotechnics, electricity, laboratory, etc. Expressing her gratitude, Nahomie Tshikadi, President of RFSE and executive at TFM, said: "It is a feeling of pride to feel this promotion of women and girls in science at all levels, and it is a great victory for us. This year, we have invited 120 young ambassadors and plan to invite 400 to the 2nd edition. We say thank you to TFM and to all the women of science of Fungurume and the entire province of Lualaba. » Invited to this day, led by their elders in science, the young girls witnessed Tenke Fungurume Mining's commitment to invest in their future and, in turn, that of the DRC.
